Location: Chichester

Salary: £93‑£100 per day (12‑week temporary placement) | £22,000‑£23,500 per annum (permanent)

Hours: Monday‑Friday, 08:15am‑3:30pm

About the Role:

We are recruiting for a SEMH Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist school supporting primary and secondary‑aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This specialist setting provides a nurturing and supportive environment for pupils with SEMH needs. With small class sizes, a personalised approach to learning and a strong focus on wellbeing, staff work together to help young people build confidence, resilience and positive outcomes. Following a successful 12‑week placement, you will transfer directly onto the school's permanent staff team.

  • Supporting pupils with SEMH needs
  • Helping students regulate emotions and develop positive learning behaviours
  • Working closely with teaching staff to deliver structured classroom support
  • Acting as a consistent, positive role model for vulnerable learners
