Role Overview

Location: Remote with occasional meetings in Watford
The Global Category Manager (GCM), Marketing is a single-contributor, delivery-focused role responsible for hands-on sourcing, commercial negotiation, and contract drafting across the global Marketing category. It requires a self-starting procurement professional with Marketing category experience, who can operate independently in a fast-paced environment, work confidently with senior stakeholders, and deliver end-to-end sourcing and contracting outcomes. Strong experience in drafting and negotiating Marketing contracts is essential. Experience in MedTech, Pharma, or other regulated environments is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Sourcing, Negotiation & Contracting
- Lead end-to-end sourcing activities across Marketing sub-categories (e.g. agencies, media, digital, brand, production, events)
- Run sourcing events including RFPs, evaluations, supplier selection, and awards
- Own commercial negotiations to deliver cost, risk, and value outcomes
- Draft, review, and negotiate Marketing contracts, including MSAs, SOWs, and amendments
- Ensure contracts are clearly communicated and consistently applied by the business
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Establish effective working relationships with senior Marketing and business stakeholders
- Translate business requirements into clear sourcing and contracting actions
- Provide pragmatic commercial advice and challenge where required
- Supplier Management & Risk (Selective)
- Support management of key Marketing suppliers where required
- Address supplier performance or commercial issues in a timely manner
- Identify and escalate supplier and contractual risks appropriately
- Support supplier innovation discussions aligned to business needs
- Governance & Delivery
- Deliver agreed Marketing sourcing activity in line with Procurement policies and procedures
- Ensure transparency of sourcing outcomes, approvals, and contract status
- Support value delivery (cost, risk mitigation, commercial improvement)
- Coordinate with Regional or GBS Procurement resources where applicable
Essential
- 5+ years' experience in Procurement or Strategic Sourcing
- Strong, demonstrable Marketing category experience (agency, media, digital, brand, production, events)
- Proven end-to-end sourcing experience
- Essential experience drafting and negotiating contracts within the Marketing category
