Job Purpose
To serve as a technical-commercial liaison during a critical supplier onboarding phase. This role ensures that MRI magnet components are optimized for cost and manufacturing without sacrificing the high-performance standards required by Siemens Healthineers.
Responsibilities
- Supplier Onboarding: "Hit the ground running" with a new supplier integration, ensuring they meet technical and cost specifications from day one.
- Stakeholder Mediation: Act as the "translator" between R&D designers, engineers, and external suppliers to balance Cost, Quality, and Technical Performance.
- Cost Driver Analysis: Identify exactly where costs sit within manufacturing techniques (machining, fabrication, etc.) and challenge stakeholders to optimize them.
- Tactical Procurement: Drive the "Design for Manufacture" (DfM) process to ensure newly designed components are commercially viable before purchase.
- Travel: Execute up to 20% travel (domestic/international) to visit supplier sites and ensure alignment.
About You
- The Hybrid Profile: You possess a rare blend of Mechanical Engineering knowledge and Commodity Management experience.
- Qualified: HNC or BEng in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Technically Fluent: You can hold your own in a room full of R&D designers, but also pivot to negotiate cost drivers with a supplier.
- Agile: Ready to jump into an active project immediately; you don't need hand-holding to understand manufacturing blueprints or supply chain workflows.
