Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services, is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Facilities Assistant on behalf of Balfour Beatty. This role is based in our Derby office, which serves approximately 500 employees. The successful candidate will provide essential 'front of house' and facilities management support within a bright, modern, and flexible working environment designed to encourage collaborative working practices. The Facilities Assistant will work closely with the Facilities Manager, Facilities Supervisor, and another Facilities Assistant to ensure the office space is maintained and managed to an exceptional standard.
Responsibilities
- Manage the access control system, including issuing passes to Balfour Beatty staff, visitors, and contractors.
- Maintain control of stock in various areas, with a focus on stationery management.
- Order and replenish kitchen and office consumables, ensuring kitchen areas are kept to an exceptional standard throughout the day.
- Provide comprehensive support to the Facilities Manager, including administrative assistance, helping manage hard and soft FM contractors, assisting with effective space maintenance, supporting the production of the annual budget, and ensuring all facility records are current.
- Proactively identify and report maintenance issues across the site, overseeing the process through to resolution.
- Raise requisitions in Oracle R12 for property-related work when directed.
- Assist with general administrative support duties as required.
- Provide assistance with hotel and travel bookings when directed.
Skills & Attributes
- Highly proficient in the Microsoft Office suite and generally IT literate.
- Exceptional organisational and customer service skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to confidently engage with people at all levels.
- Proven experience delivering high-quality Front of House services within a corporate setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Desirable
- Proven experience with Access Control/Security systems.
- Familiarity with AIWFM (Integrated Workplace Management System).
- Relevant qualification (NVQ, or equivalent) in Front of House, Reception, or Business Administration.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of Facilities Management principles.
- A current First Aid and/or Fire Marshall qualification is desirable, although mandatory training will be provided.
