Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services is currently seeking a dedicated Trial Support Technician to be the engine behind vital unit-based research trials. Your hands-on expertise will directly contribute to groundbreaking discoveries in pet health and nutrition at a world-renowned Petcare Science Institute.
Some of the duties will include but are not limited to:
- Laboratory Execution (90%): Perform diverse laboratory procedures, including sample preparation, solution creation, and processing biological samples (saliva, faeces). Strict adherence to laboratory practice standards is essential to support the delivery of our research plan. Includes movement of samples across the site.
- Research Collaboration (10%): Liaise with research members, provide trial progress updates, and attend team meetings and trial after-action reviews where required.
Context and Scope: The Day-to-Day Impact
Working closely with the Research Support Team Leader, you will ensure trial requests are carried out effectively, often managing tasks across up to 8 different trials per week.
Core Trial Activities:
- Interpreting and strictly following risk assessments and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Accurate preparation of various flavour solutions and supplements for in vivo testing in cats and dogs.
- Processing and preparing biological and food samples for detailed laboratory analysis.
- Ensuring the appropriate disposal of chemicals.
- Following detailed trial protocols and accurately recording data using platforms like LIMS, excel, and XDL.
- Printing and managing labels for trial samples.
Required experience:
- A scientific degree
- Some exposure to a laboratory environment (gained through qualifications or work experience)
- Exceptional attention to detail, high accuracy and a commitment to quality in all work outputs.
- Ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines while demonstrating high learning agility
- Excellent communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively within a team, and strong computer literacy
