Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services is currently recruiting for a Product Training Commercial Manager to join a World leader offering Products, Solutions and Services across the entire Mobility value chain on behalf of a well established manufacturing organisation to play a key role in supporting Manufacturing Operations.

The Product Technical Training Commercial Manager leads the commercial strategy, pricing governance, and business operations for the technical product training portfolio. Rather than delivering training courses, this individual acts as the commercial owner—driving direct training sales and proposals, benchmarking market rates, managing order-to-invoicing lifecycles, and ensuring profit margins are maintained across UK and international customer accounts. Working cross-functionally with technical trainers, project managers, and finance teams, the role is responsible for scaling training revenue, tracking commercial KPIs, and aligning course offerings with evolving market demand.

Some of the duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Establish, update, and manage the commercial price book and standard fee schedules for all technical training courses.
  • Oversee Delegations of Authority (DLAs) and discounting policies to protect commercial profit margins. Benchmark pricing against OEMs, internal entities, and third-party training providers to maintain market competitiveness.
  • Develop and implement a regionalized commercial framework to scale training offerings across international markets.
  • Drive direct business development and sales outreach to internal and external clients alongside Project Managers and Customer Service Managers. Build, negotiate, and submit formal commercial proposals and bids for tailored technical training programs.
  • Meet assigned annual revenue and gross profit targets for the product training portfolio. Own end-to-end commercial management for training orders, from initial quote through to order execution.
  • Monitor project costs, perform cost transfers, and prevent margin slippage on delivery across UK and overseas locations.
  • Liaise with business administration and finance teams (MS BA) to process cost collections, customer invoicing, and account closures efficiently.
  • Consult with clients to assess operational training needs and confirm existing packages remain fit for purpose. Identify gaps in client technical capabilities and collaborate with technical instructors to launch new course offerings.
  • Review post-training customer satisfaction scores and Net Promoter Scores (NPS) to capture repeat sales and expansion opportunities.
  • Maintain and publish monthly/quarterly commercial dashboards tracking revenue, profitability, and delivery pipeline.
  • Ensure operational and course administration data are kept current in the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Maintain strict adherence to business conduct guidelines and compliance regulations across all commercial engagements.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven background in commercial contract management, commercial project management, or client-facing commercial operations. Demonstrable track record managing the end-to-end commercial lifecycle (proposals, budgeting, costing, and invoicing).
  • Hands-on experience developing pricing models, managing price books, and safeguarding profit margins.
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent professional experience in a Commercial, Finance, or Engineering discipline.
  • Practical expertise in direct sales, client negotiations, and drafting formal commercial training/service proposals.
  • Experience conducting market benchmarking and competitor analysis to maintain commercial viability. Understanding of project financial controls, Delegation of Authority limits (DLAs), and margin slippage mitigation.
  • Working knowledge of learning management systems (LMS) or enterprise ERP/commercial management reporting tools.
  • Ability to deliver regular commercial KPI reports, revenue tracking, and performance dashboards.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with international teams and diverse customer bases. Flexibility and willingness to travel globally when required.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Multi-lingual capabilities to interface effectively with international clients and regional partners.
  • Prior experience working within a global corporate matrix organization or collaborating across multinational teams.
  • Background in heavy engineering, industrial machinery, energy, rail, or manufacturing sectors.
  • Direct experience in commercializing technical training, service-level agreements (SLAs), or aftermarket engineering solutions.
  • Practical administration experience with enterprise Learning Management Systems (LMS) and enterprise ERP platforms (such as SAP).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for commercial modeling, cost-collection analysis, and margin reconciliation. Experience drafting technical marketing materials, product sheets, course catalogs, or client-facing pitch decks.
  • Familiarity with measuring and interpreting Net Promoter Scores (NPS) and customer feedback metrics to drive repeat business.
