Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services, is currently recruiting for an experienced Construction Assistant Project Manager with a construction background on behalf of our engineering client in Goole. The Global Mobility business is creating its first UK based Rail Industry Hub on the outskirts of Goole in the East Riding of Yorkshire. With an initial contract to assemble nearly 50 trains to service the Piccadilly line on the London Underground we are starting to recruit up to 300 skilled technical and support colleagues in our Manufacturing Facility. In the near future follow-on work is expected to bring this number of trains into the hundreds, along with an expansion on the site into maintenance and overhaul activities displaying a long-term commitment to the area and growth in employment and career opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the project manager in defining the project / scope out what needs to be done and take full responsibility for small projects.
- Coordinate and work with the internal stakeholders allocated to the project and liaise with the suppliers.
- Facilitate the project life cycle in line with the Siemens processes, establishing project quality controls, to the highest standards with compliance in all activities.
- Create, monitor and manage project schedules and key dates, to ensure projects are delivered on time and to support wider business resource loading analysis.
- Assess any risks and prepare an action plan including a risk assessment.
- Monitor the progress throughout, keeping the programme up to date.
Key Skills / Experience Required:
- Working towards a Project Management qualification.
- Experience working in construction.
- Competent user of Microsoft Office 365 applications and familiar with MS Project.
- Determined and focused attitude to ensuring successful completion of projects whilst maintaining collaborative relationships with both internal and external customers.
- Ability to constructively provide feedback and offer opportunities for improvement to meet compliance requirements.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate others as part of a matrix team.
