Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services, is currently recruiting for a Cross Border Analyst on behalf of our client, Mars Petcare.

This role is essential for managing end-to-end import operations, coordinating shipping container movements from the EU and the rest of the world (~1,500 containers per month), ensuring customs clearance accuracy, and maintaining continuous flow of goods into the UK and Northern Ireland post-Brexit.

Job Purpose

The job sits within the UK Logistics team (Petcare sector) in a cross-segment capacity.

The role is responsible for managing imports into the UK Market, completing essential administration for approx 1,500 containers per month, working directly with customs agents to ensure smooth logistics clearance, and driving continuous improvement through digital innovation.

The ideal candidate will be a strong problem solver, comfortable working in ambiguous environments, and passionate about leveraging technology and analytical skills to enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Import / Export Logistics & Shipment Coordination

  • Oversee shipping container movements originating from the EU and the Rest of the World (~1,500 containers monthly).
  • Perform critical administration work for customs agents to ensure efficient clearance.
  • Collaborate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal teams to resolve delays and discrepancies.
  • Monitor shipment milestones and proactively address potential disruptions.
  • Ensure necessary certification and documentation is raised and sent to appropriate stakeholders to guarantee the efficient flow of goods to Northern Ireland (NI) customers post-Brexit.

Customs Compliance & Agent Management

  • Perform document checks and verification within SAP and ATLAS (training provided if lacking prior ATLAS experience).
  • Ensure full compliance with international trade regulations as set out by the Trade Compliance team.
  • Hold customs agents and third-party logistics (3PL) providers accountable for service levels and documentation accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate records for audits and regulatory inspections.
  • Ensure commodity code compliance through SAP and agent declarations, monitoring customs agent performance against agreed KPIs on a periodic basis.

Operational Controls, Analysis & Reporting

  • Utilize critical thinking to review, analyze, and maintain audit control reports to ensure data integrity.
  • Conduct regular reconciliations and data analysis to identify operational trends or discrepancies.
  • Support internal and external audits by maintaining robust documentation and compliance logs.
  • Identify and escalate risks, anomalies, or bottlenecks in cross-border operations.

Continuous Improvement & Digital Innovation

  • Lead and support Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives to streamline cross-border processes and reduce lead times.
  • Leverage digital tools, platforms, and advanced Excel to automate and improve operational workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement technology-driven solutions and best practices.

About You

Key Skills & Experience

  • Strong Excel experience (data reconciliation, analysis, and report generation).
  • Background in Supply Chain, Import/Export, or Logistics administration is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP; familiarity with ATLAS is a plus (not essential, full training will be provided).
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills with an ability to read and evaluate audit/control reports.
  • Strong "connect the dots" mindset—ability to problem-solve complex cross-border logistics issues
