VDI Solution Engineer – Contract – Inside IR35 – January Start Date!
My Client is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated VMware Engineer to join their fast-paced team. This role involves working on cutting-edge projects with a focus on VMware Virtual Infrastructure designs, Active Directory and Exchange migrations, and high availability solutions. You will collaborate closely with government customers in a high-energy, customer-facing environment.
About the Role
You will primarily work on secure government sites (Heathrow, West London) up to four days a week, with occasional travel to other customer sites in Huntingdon. You’ll contribute to technical documentation and support operational services while providing input for change projects when needed. In addition, you’ll help identify and integrate new technologies to solve problems and improve services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement VMware Virtual Infrastructure solutions.
- Contribute to Active Directory and Exchange migrations.
- Work with high availability technologies, including Microsoft Clustered Services and VMware.
- Support Linux, Windows Server (2016, 2019), and Windows 10 environments.
- Maintain technical documentation and support operational and project deliverables.
Required Skills:
- Expertise in VMware virtualisation technologies:
- – VMware vSphere ESXi 6.7/6.5/6.x/5.5/5.x/4.1.
- – VMware Horizon 7/6.1/6.01/5.3.
- – vSAN 6.5 Proof of Concept (POC).
- Experience with server and storage solutions, including:
- – HP DL / Blade servers (M1000e, C3000/7000).
- – EMC FC / EMC VNX2e NFS / NETApps NAS.
- Networking skills with Cisco design experience.
- Proficiency in Linux and Windows environments.
- Familiarity with Symantec Endpoint Protection and McAfee Antivirus design and integration.
