This role is highly autonomous and will see you influence and pioneer a new class of renewable energy to help combat climate change.
The Role
This position at DRIFT offers you an exciting opportunity to join a revolutionary start-up specialising in renewable energy at sea. The objective is to meaningfully accelerate the energy transition by harnessing the latent power of the world’s biggest asset – its oceans. By joining our team, you will have the opportunity to work closely with key roles in the team, as well as understand how the business operates. It will involve a mix of project work and operational tasks and this, coupled with great support from the team, will give you invaluable insight into what it takes to be part of a start-up business in the growing renewable energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete designated, business-focused projects to research, propose ideas and solutions and present a final project during the internship.
- Engage with the team and key stakeholders as appropriate, building and maintaining professional relationships at all times.
- Provide suggestions for development and growth of the business and support delivering the business mission.
- Rotate between different specialisms to gain a breadth of experience across the business.
- Take on data collation, analysis and presentation tasks (e.g. Supplier or Use Case information).
- Understand the overall concept of the company, including the brand, strategy, mission and operations.

- Experience in the Maritime and Energy sectors.
Requirements
Studying in your penultimate or final year of studies in honours degree of the following disciplines or similar: Engineering, Computer Science, Marine & Climate studies. On target for a 2:1 level or above.
Compensation and Benefits
The opportunity to be part of a hugely innovative world climate change initiative. Working with a passionate, committed and visionary “crew”. 26 days holiday per year. £25-30k salary, plus equity. Pension. Life Assurance. This role will be based in the Bath office with the option to negotiate flexible working.
