Main responsibilities of the job will include
- Production of statutory accounts and interim accounts for the
Group and all subsidiary companies as required.
- Ensuring that investment loan records are properly maintained, up to date and regularly reconciled to the financial ledgers.
- Ensuring the correct IFRS 9 classification of all financial assets and liabilities for reporting and disclosure purposes, supported by documented evidence.
- Implementation of new IFRS requirements including an understanding of any changes to those requirements.
- Ensuring that the Group's accounting policies are fully documented and updated for any new policies or changes to existing policies.
- Providing BIST with accounting journals and supporting evidence in relation to the financial assets and liabilities managed by the Bank on its behalf.
- Managing the process for uploading statutory financial reporting data into the BIST EPM system.
- Liaison and interaction with the Group' tax advisors for the preparation of annual accounts estimates and corporation tax computations for submission to HMRC.
- Identify and deliver changes that strengthen controls and support a culture of continuous improvement
Support the development and maintenance of internal controls, treasury policies and procedures and tax policies
Essential
- Strong technical accounting background preferably gained in a banking, investment management or other relevant financial services environment
- Current understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards.
- Experience in the production of complex consolidated financial statements
- Good understanding of UK corporation tax
Desirable
- Understanding of Government financial accounting
- Experience of working in a commercial, SME-finance or fund/banking or other relevant financial services environment
