Rates of Pay & Shifts:
Pay: Starting at £15.58 ph, rising to £17.73 ph (excluding Shift Allowance).
Example Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, rotating weekly. You must be able to work all 3 rotations:
- Week 1 (Mornings): 6:00 - 13:30 (Mon-Thu), 6:00 - 12:00 (Fri)
- Week 2 (Afternoons): 13:30 - 21:00 (Mon-Thu), 12:00 - 18:00 (Fri)
- Week 3 (Nights): 21:00 - 06:00 (Mon-Thu)
Available Positions:
- Kit Runner: Cleaning removed plastics (bumpers, claddings, spoilers) and transporting them via trolley to the prep/paint cells, then returning them to the assembly team. This is a physically active role involving significant walking. Small element of paperwork/PC work required.
- Car Runner: Moving vehicles into bays for plastic removal and parking them onsite. (Must meet strict insurance criteria below).
- Car Wash: Cleaning vehicles using jet wash machines and hand-drying. (Must meet strict insurance criteria below).
- Prep/Polisher: Preparing vehicles for painting and polishing them post-paint.
- Trim Ops: Removing vehicle trim prior to painting and refitting them upon completion.
Insurance Requirements (For Car Runner & Car Wash roles only):
- Must be 30 years of age or older
- Must hold a full driving licence for 5+ years
- No previous driving disqualifications
- Maximum of 6 live penalty points (with no single conviction exceeding 3 points)
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the operational team to meet vehicle production targets and key metrics (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Morale, Environment).
- Adhere to standardised work instructions, quality operating systems, and 5S standards.
- Take responsibility for the Health and Safety of yourself and others.
- Identify improvement ideas and escalate quality concerns or problems through the appropriate channels.
Requirements:
- Essential: Previous experience meeting deadlines and quality targets in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to follow detailed work instructions with strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge and experience regarding workplace safety metrics.
- Desirable: Knowledge of Quality Operating Systems procedures.
- Exposure to continuous improvement or Lean manufacturing tools.
