Are you an experienced Production Operative looking for a new challenge? Would you like to work 4 days a week (Monday - Thursday)? Receiving a competitive hourly rate and additional benefits. We're currently hiring Production Operatives for temporary, ongoing roles at Caterpillar Larne facility.
Job Responsibilities
- Mechanically prepare substrates to required standard using power tools.
- Clean and prepare surfaces as per specification.
- Apply stripe coating, cutting in and masking out.
- Assemble sub-assemblies, options and other components of generator sets.
- Work from prints and standard work instructions to produce components of generator sets and similar large assemblies.
- Work across various areas of the business, including, but not limited to, fettle/ paint, machine shop, paintline, nutsert/ assembly.
- Compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Compliance with 5S programme and other business improvement initiatives.
- Display behaviour and conduct fitting with our Values in Action.
- Train other employees if and when required.
- Any other appropriate duties.
Required Qualifications
- The ability to follow and comprehend verbal, specific and detailed procedures and work instructions as well as basic arithmetic calculations in order to perform the duties described above.
- Ability to work reasonable amounts of overtime and various shift patterns.
- Good communication skills, experience working in a team environment.
Desired Qualifications
- The ability to use hand tools, power tools, and to be able to read and interpret drawings.
- Previous experience working in a lean environment.
- Previous mechanical experience.
- Experience working to takt times.
- Reasonable level of computer literacy where required.

Hours of Work and Salary
- Day Shift – £14.27/hr.
- Night Shift – £19.03/hr.
- Overtime – £21.41/hr (First ten hours)
- Overtime – £28.54/hr (After ten hours overtime)
- 37.5 hours per week. (Mon - Thurs)
Shift Schedule
- Day shift – Monday: 07:00 - 17:15, Tuesday - Thursday: 07:00 - 16:45
- Night shift – Monday: 21:00 - 07:15, Tuesday - Thursday: 21:00 - 06:45
- Shift times may vary depending on work location within the facility.
