Job title: Forklift Operator

Job type: Temporary – ongoing

Location: Spring Road, Wigan, WN5 0LB

Shifts

  • Monday to Friday: Double days – 05:50 – 13:50 and 13:50 – 21:50 (weekly rotational)
  • Nights: 21:50 – 05:50
  • Fridays: 05:30 – 12:30, 12:30 – 19:30, 19:30 – 02:30

Pay Rate

Double days: £18.95 per hour. Nights: £22.12 per hour.

Our client is one of the world’s largest food and beverage companies. They manufacture and market food and beverage products across the globe, including condiments and sauces, cheese and dairy, meals, meats, refreshment beverages, coffee, and other grocery products in a portfolio of more than 200 iconic brands.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months of experience operating a forklift truck is mandatory.
  • In‑date forklift counterbalance license is a must.
  • Previous experience in a food production or manufacturing environment (desirable).
  • Should have suitable transport arrangements.
  • Ability to pay high attention to detail and confidence to work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to be versatile in working in different production departments.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing, manufacturing & dispatching a variety of food products in a busy production environment.
  • Moving products including ingredients, final products, and packaged items ready to ship to customers – a current, valid FLT license (counterbalance) is mandatory.
  • You will work as part of a team and be responsible for the quality of the products you are working to produce.
  • The role may involve training in a variety of areas within the factory as you may be moved around into different departments depending on requirements.
