We are looking for a dedicated Production Operative to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for production tasks related to associated projects, specifically focusing on the assembly and disassembly of required parts. You will work to deliver the correct number of units on time per the delivery plan, ensuring all activities meet strict quality and safety standards.

Location: Eastleigh
Pay Rate:
- Days - £21.31
- Backs - £21.31 + shift pay
Shifts:
- Days: 6.30 am - 3.00 pm (Mon - Thur) & 6.30 am - 12.00 (Friday)
- Backs: 3.00 pm - 11.30 pm (Mon - Thur) & 12.00 pm - 5.30 pm (Friday)
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare units for production activities, including bogie part replacement, yaw dampers, and associated part replacement.
- Fully complete tasks in accordance with SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), QCPs (Quality Control Plans), and Quality standards.
- Monitor, control, and minimize waste while maintaining high standards of housekeeping.
- Adhere strictly to Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
- Work collaboratively to create a positive environment and deputise for the Team Leader when required.
- Contribute to a culture of sharing best practice.
- Support the design and delivery of training to colleagues, including those who are less experienced or new to the role.
- Clearly communicate with the Section Leader, escalating issues by exception.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Must be educated to NVQ Level 3 in a relevant engineering discipline.
- The job holder is required to hold a relevant TRACK SAFETY competence.
- Ability to interpret SOPs, QCPs, instructional documentation, and an understanding of SRIs and SRPs.
- A high-performance culture with a drive for continuous improvement and the ability to work on your own initiative.
- Strong attention to detail, determination on quality standards, and excellent literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
- Must be available to travel to Hitachi sites for training courses relating to the role.
Desirable Extras
- Experience within an Operational Railway Environment.
- Qualification or previous experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
- Crane or lift experience.
