About the Opportunity:
We are currently engaging seasoned Senior Backend Engineers across several core platform squads responsible for serving hundreds of millions of active users worldwide. These teams build the foundational distributed services, data pipelines, and real-time decisioning infrastructure that power playback, metadata delivery, catalog ingestion, and algorithm-driven discovery.
Depending on your core technical strengths, you will step into one of several focused platform engineering streams:
- Personalization & Algorithmic Serving: Architecting resilient, high-volume Java microservices and low-latency APIs that bridge machine learning models and high-traffic consumer features.
- Content Catalog & Petabyte-Scale Storage: Building batch data processing pipelines (Apache Beam, Cloud Dataflow), wide-column NoSQL architectures, and deduplication systems under strict regulatory compliance and lifecycle rules.
- Core Catalog Architecture & Decoupling: Leading complex service migrations, API schema evolution, and backward compatibility management to simplify cross-domain dependencies.
- Metadata Serving & Low-Latency Caching: Designing sub-millisecond read APIs, multi-tier distributed caching layers (Redis/Memcached), and traffic-optimized serving infrastructure.
- Dynamic Access & Entitlements Engine: Engineering high-availability authorization, feature-gating, and policy evaluation systems with dynamic, real-time cache invalidation.
What We Are Looking For
- Deep Backend Engineering Expertise: Strong commercial experience building and maintaining distributed, production-grade microservices using Java, Scala, or Go.
- High-Throughput & Low-Latency API Design: Proven record architecting REST or gRPC services that run reliably under high concurrency with rigorous schema versioning and backward compatibility.
- Data Stores & Caching: Practical familiarity with distributed key-value/NoSQL stores, cloud object storage, and advanced caching/invalidation strategies.
- Large-Scale Data Processing (For Pipeline Tracks): Experience with batch or streaming frameworks (Apache Beam, Flink, Spark, or Cloud Dataflow).
- Resilience & Production Ownership: Practical understanding of circuit breakers, rate limiting, system observability, and zero-downtime operational maintenance.
