Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services are currently recruiting for a Senior Electrician on behalf of a global CDMO organization.

Role purpose:

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment across the facility. The ideal candidate brings in-depth knowledge of industrial electrical systems, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to mentor junior electricians while ensuring compliance with safety and electrical codes.

Key accountabilities:

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems, machinery, and control panels in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Perform diagnostics and repairs on motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), electrical and instrumentation panels and automation equipment.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of electrical and equipment upgrade projects.
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, loop drawings, electrical schedules and schematics to identify and resolve electrical issues.
  • Conduct regular preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with Company and British standards.
  • Mentor and support junior electricians and maintenance staff.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to support continuous improvement and efficiency goals.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests and assist in root cause analysis.

Key requirements:

  • Completion of a recognized electrician apprenticeship or technical program.
  • Electrical City & Guilds or NVQ qualification.
  • Additional certifications in Automation systems are an advantage.
  • Proven experience with low-voltage systems, motor controls, and industrial automation.
  • Strong background working with electrical distribution systems, UPS Systems, VFDs and distributed control systems or PLCs.
  • Deep understanding of electrical codes, industrial safety protocols, and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Knowledge of electrical installation rules in ATEX environments.
