Overview
This role is critical for the effective execution of the Programme's core strategic objectives, working closely with the Integration Delivery Director and the broader team. It involves managing the production and coordination of key governance updates for senior committees and executive forums. The role is responsible for driving the delivery team's execution rhythm on actions, decisions, and execution. Furthermore, it supports the maintenance of an effective risk and control environment and monitors ongoing programme governance assurance.
Responsibilities
- Produce and coordinate key governance updates for Programme Committees and Executive forums.
- Drive the delivery team's execution rhythm, focusing on timely completion of actions and decisions.
- Implement and monitor ongoing assurance for programme delivery governance.
- Prepare materials for board and senior stakeholder updates in collaboration with the Integration Management Office (IMO).
- Attend key forums and steering groups to provide constructive challenge and capture actions/decisions.
- Help maintain an effective risk and control environment throughout the Programme lifecycle.
- Support the periodic review of programme-to-workstream governance to ensure it remains proportionate and effective.
- Decide on the positioning of risks, key messages, and major decisions for senior leadership engagement.
Essential Skills & Experience Required
- Significant experience leading large-scale organisational change within a transformation, portfolio, project management, or PMO capacity.
- Strong knowledge of the Financial Services industry, ideally insurance and/or Pensions, including commercial, customer, and people measures and metrics.
- Proven ability to solve complex problems, coupled with excellent numeracy and organizational skills.
- Exceptional written and presentation communication skills, adaptable to a wide variety of audiences.
- Demonstrable awareness of risk, control, and governance requirements, ideally gained in a highly regulated environment.
- Comfortable working at pace in a complex and ambiguous environment, often under tight deadlines.
- Ability to build and maintain strong, effective relationships with senior stakeholders and peers.
- Professional certification (e.g., APM, P3O, Prince2) or a degree-level education is desirable.
