Position Overview
Provide short‑term supervision, coordination, and operational oversight of Facilities services to ensure continuity, compliance, and safe operation of site infrastructure.
The Role
An experienced Facilities Supervisor or Manager is required to provide high-level operational oversight for our expansive 32-acre laboratory diagnostics site. This critical interim role ensures the continuity and safety of our infrastructure across multiple buildings—including high-tech manufacturing, warehousing, and specialized refrigeration facilities. You will lead a small, dedicated onsite team and act as the primary point of contact for external contractors, ensuring that both the day-to-day environment and upcoming infrastructure improvements stay on track.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the onsite Facilities team (2 staff).
- Coordinate and oversee PPM schedules.
- Manage, schedule, and monitor third‑party contractor activities across site.
- Support delivery and tracking of capex projects (approx. £2M in FY26).
- Maintain statutory, regulatory and EHS compliance across building and site services.
- Ensure facility complies with all relevant legislation (H&S, Fire Safety, Environmental, Waste management).
- Support both reactive and planned maintenance activities.
- Liaise with Engineering, EHS, Finance, and Manufacturing stakeholders.
- Provide regular status updates to the Engineering & Maintenance Manager.
Key Skills and experience required
- Previous experience in Facilities Supervision or Facilities Management.
- Strong contractor management and coordination capability.
- Working knowledge of building services, compliance, and maintenance cycles.
- Ability to work independently and make operational decisions.
- Good communication skills across multiple stakeholder groups.
- A driving licence and your own vehicle to be able to get to site easily each day.
