  • Factory Operations Manager
  • Position: Full-time, Permanent

We are thrilled to partner with a reputable, market-leading manufacturer to find a dedicated Factory Operations Manager to join their team.

This is a high-visibility role for an experienced manufacturing leader to take full ownership of day-to-day operations and play a vital role in the next phase of business growth.

The Role

You will lead daily operations from Goods In to Despatch, ensuring a safe, efficient, and uninterrupted product flow.

Managing a team of Supervisors, you will collaborate closely with Quality, Engineering, and Planning to embed Lean principles, improve TAKT adherence, and drive a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all factory functions (Goods In, Fabrication, Assembly, Despatch) to hit production plans safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Directly manage and mentor Production Supervisors; lead daily operational reviews and foster a high-accountability, teamwork-driven environment.
  • Champion daily Lean, 3S, and Visual Management activities; lead Kaizen and 5 Why initiatives to eliminate bottlenecks and waste.
  • Monitor key factory KPIs, partner with the Quality Manager to resolve issues swiftly, and implement robust manufacturing controls.
  • Act as a champion for safety, driving flawless compliance and high standards of workplace organisation.
  • What We’re Looking For
  • Strong experience managing manufacturing operations and leading/developing teams of Supervisors.
  • A solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and a hands‑on management style with a visible shop floor presence.
  • Exceptional problem‑solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Sector Experience: Background in automotive, engineering, fabrication, assembly, or OEM manufacturing.
  • CI Tools: Direct experience with TAKT-based production systems, 3S, Visual Management, and Continuous Improvement (CI) implementation.
  • Qualifications: An HNC, Degree, or equivalent qualification in an engineering or manufacturing discipline is preferred.
