Operative

We currently have a temporary role available within the DS Smith site at Featherstone. This role is ideal for someone with previous warehouse, production, or manufacturing experience.

Role: Operative

Location: DS Smith Featherstone, Commonside Lane, Featherstone, Wakefield, WF7 5DF

Pay Rate: £15.79 per hour

Duration: Temporary covering 13 x 12-hour shifts

Shift Schedule: We require temporary operatives to work 12-hour shifts (covering Day Shifts 06:00-18:00 and Night Shifts 18:00-06:00).

Main Responsibilities

• Manually placing pallets onto conveyors during floor maintenance.
• Assisting with picking, packing, loading, and unloading goods as required.
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized workspace around active machinery areas.
• Adhering strictly to health and safety regulations at all times.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a warehouse, production, or manufacturing environment.
• Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual handling tasks over 12-hour shifts.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and excellent punctuality.
• Good communication skills and team working capabilities.
