Your Impact in the Classroom
- Curriculum Excellence: Delivering engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4, covering both Physical and Human Geography (AQA/Edexcel specifications).
- Fieldwork Leadership: Coordinating and leading essential fieldwork enquiries, utilising both the local Essex coastline and urban environments as "living classrooms".
- Global Literacy: Helping students develop spatial awareness and critical thinking skills using maps, GIS (Geographical Information Systems), and satellite imagery.
- Exam Success: Preparing Year 11 students for their GCSE papers, with a particular focus on case study analysis and synoptic links.
- Inclusion: Differentiating complex global concepts to ensure that every student, regardless of their starting point, can "think like a Geographer".
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Mandatory. We also warmly welcome applications from Early Career Teachers (ECTs).
- Subject Specialism: A degree in Geography or a closely related environmental field.
- Fieldwork Experience: A willingness to lead and participate in educational visits outside the classroom.
- Passion & Energy: An ability to make the subject relevant to students' lives in the 21st century.
- Location: Based in or able to commute to Wickford (conveniently located near the A127 and on the Greater Anglia line).
