A warm and welcoming special needs school is looking for a Trainee SEN Teacher to join their outstanding team immediately. Fully subscribed for this academic year, the school is seeking a fun, friendly, and dedicated trainee teacher to support students aged 5 to 19 with complex needs, including Autism, Asperger's, and associated learning difficulties.

As a Trainee SEN Teacher, you'll play a vital role in delivering high-quality teaching and support, initially on a 1:1 basis, helping students progress academically, socially, and emotionally. You'll be working with primary or secondary-aged learners who are typically two to three years below age-related expectations. This two-year training programme will provide you with the skills and experience to qualify as an SEN teacher.

Their creative, individualised curriculum includes enriching outdoor activities like horse riding, ensuring that every learner is supported holistically. Their core mission? This is a part-time position. Candidates must be available 08:45-4:45pm Monday-Friday a minimum of 3 days a week.

Requirements

  • Childcare or care experience (6 months) - Desirable
  • GCSE English and Maths or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • As a trainee Class Teacher, your role will be to provide high-quality teaching and support on a 1:1 basis that will enable pupils to make progress not just academically, but socially and emotionally.
  • Communicating with parents and carers over pupils' progress and participating in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, and whole school training events.
