Set near Cranleigh, this inspiring school is dedicated to supporting pupils with an Autism diagnosis. You will be part of a skilled and passionate team committed to providing exceptional educational, care, and transition pathways for children and young people aged 4 – 19 years.

The staff follow a tailored curriculum designed to foster effective learning, encouraging students to develop new learning strategies and achieve independence. They strive to ensure the best possible outcomes, helping all pupils to reach their full potential both academically and at home.

The team are looking for positive, resilient, and compassionate individuals to join the team due to an increase in student numbers. Students are taught in spacious, well-lit classrooms, receiving one-on-one instruction in a calm and secure environment. -£1000 bonus upon joining to help you bridge the gap between roles

-Part time option available (3 or 4 days) if unable to commit to full time

-Regular salary progression based on completion of training

-Rare career progression in an unqualified route – opportunities to move to a Lead Teacher and Class Supervisor role without the need for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

-Your own dedicated and experienced consultant to guide you through the application and interview process

Your role would include:

-Providing teaching and support to pupils with autism, following individualised curriculums

-Planning, preparing and delivering lessons and activities, focusing largely on life skills

-Supporting pupils\’ participation in trips, applying theory-based learning to practice

-Providing behaviourally based support to reduce behaviours that impact quality of life

-Providing personal care, encouraging pupils to maintain acceptable levels of hygiene (toileting, feeding)

-Monitoring pupil progress, ensuring teaching is appropriate and effective for pupil needs

-Assisting with breaktime duties including playground support and snack time

Skills and capabilities:

-Minimum Grade C/4 or equivalent, in English Language & Maths

-Professional, personal or voluntary experience of working with children and disabilities

– Comfortable working with children who exhibit challenging behaviour

– Comfortable supporting others with personal/intimate care where required

– Ability to keep calm in high pressure situation

– Own means of transport, due to location desirable
