This opportunity is for a small, independent specialist school designed for children with communication difficulties typically associated with Autism spectrum conditions. The school is currently seeking a Teaching Assistant to join their team ASAP. It has been open for 1 year and is growing daily, with a warm and supportive environment that has been recognised for its positive impact and recently awarded outstanding by Ofsted. The setting offers facilities including an on‑site kitchen, a fully equipped music room, and outdoor space with a trim trail and on‑site Forest School. It currently supports 45+ pupils aged 11 to 16 and provides a tailored, 1:1 education in a calm and nurturing environment.

This is a permanent, full‑time position. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm. Full training will be provided and you will have immediate access to funded qualifications. The school and team are invested in the futures of staff as well as learners.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the delivery of engaging and interactive lessons and educational activities
  • Supporting learners with SEN on a 1:1, small group and whole class basis

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Relevant SEN experience
  • Experience (voluntary or paid) working with children and young adults
  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
