Teaching Assistants Needed | Southport (PR8 / PR9)

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school in Southport.

In this role, you will provide essential academic and behavioural support across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You will work within various departments to help students stay engaged and reach their target grades. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting students in core subjects like English, Maths, and Science to ensure they grasp key concepts.
• Supporting the lead teacher in maintaining a focused and productive learning environment.
• Leading focused workshops for students who need extra help ahead of exams or assessments.
• Acting as a positive role model for students aged 11-16, encouraging high aspirations and attendance.
• Helping to manage classroom resources and supporting departmental activities.

Skills & Requirements:

• Experience working with teenagers or in a secondary school environment.
• Strong academic background (GCSEs at Grade C/5 or above in English and Maths).
• Confident communication skills and the ability to build rapport with adolescents.

• A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
