We\’re seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support students with ASD needs in an Outstanding-rated school. Full training is provided—we\’re looking for individuals who are nurturing, compassionate, creative, and adaptable.

The school\’s mission is to provide every student with an exceptional education while empowering them to reach their full potential. Every learner does this in a modern and spacious school with a curriculum catered to them embracing a mix of academic and vocational learning pathways.

In this full-time, permanent role (8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, term-time only), you\’ll work with students aged 9 to 19 in one-on-one, small group, and whole-class settings.

Your responsibilities

  • Providing teaching assistance to the teacher defined according to weekly/daily/seasonal planning of the teacher
  • Working 1:1 with students
  • Providing group and/or individual activities, planned by the teacher
  • Working individually with learners/students to develop work
  • Supporting the general well being of learners within the structure of the school
  • Monitoring and evaluating students\’ learning under the guidance of the teacher
  • Assisting teachers in the use of relevant management strategies to ensure a purposeful environment for teaching and learning to take place
  • Supporting all learners in their planned structured work in all curriculum areas

Key skills and experience

  • The ability to work with learners that have various learning difficulties
  • A willingness to learn and build relationships with learners
  • The ability to work as an individual and as a part of the team
  • Flexibility in their approach to education
  • Experience working in SEND settings is desirable but not essential
  • Own means of transport
  • GCSE Maths and English
