Are you a dedicated and compassionate individual looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people? We are an all-through school (ages 5-16) in the North of Bath, committed to providing exceptional education for pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. We\’re looking for a talented Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils with their academic work, offering both individual and group assistance.
  • Creating a safe and supportive learning environment specifically tailored for students with SEMH needs.
  • Collaborating closely with teachers to develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs).
  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing valuable feedback to teachers.
  • Assisting with classroom management and implementing effective behaviour support strategies.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and their families, fostering trust and open communication.
  • Participating enthusiastically in school events and activities.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children with SEMH needs.
  • A genuinely patient, understanding, and empathetic approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to connect effectively with pupils, colleagues, and families.
  • Strong classroom management skills to maintain a productive learning atmosphere.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team, contributing to a collaborative school environment.
  • A relevant qualification in education or a related field is desirable, but not essential if you have the right experience and mindset.
