About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with the class teacher to create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils.
  • Building positive relationships with students to help them feel safe and enjoy learning.
  • Supporting positive behaviour and concentration levels, adapting your approach as needed.
  • Promoting independence and personal development with high expectations.
  • Assisting with the delivery of learning activities and providing resources.
  • Giving meaningful feedback on student progress and attitudes.

This is a dynamic role where flexibility is key - you'll be expected to adapt and contribute wherever needed to support the overall aims of the school.

What We're Looking For:

We're seeking a compassionate, positive, and creative individual who is committed to putting the child first.

Essential:

  • GCSE Maths and English Language (Grade 4 or equivalent).
  • Experience working with SEN (Special Educational Needs) in an employed or voluntary setting.
  • Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
  • Knowledge or experience of pupils with SEN, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) or ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder).
  • Ability to provide consistent support and complete reports accurately.
  • Willingness to participate in the school's behaviour support approach, including physical intervention (Team Teach accredited) when absolutely necessary and as a last resort.

Desirable:

  • A recognised qualification at Level 2 or above in Support Work for Teaching and Learning in Schools or an equivalent.

Working Hours:

This is a Term Time Only position, 40 hours per week.

Start Time: 8:15 AM daily

Finish Times:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 4:45 PM
  • Thursday: 5:00 PM
  • Friday: 4:00 PM
