Trauma-informed, patient, and completely unfazed by challenging behaviour - does this sound like you? The Randstad Tuition Team is recruiting SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Tutors to support children in crisis care and local authority care. These young people have often faced significant trauma and disruption; your primary goal will be to re-engage them with learning through emotional regulation and academic mentorship.

What You'll Do:

  • Deliver bespoke 1:1 education sessions focused on both emotional well-being and basic academic progress.
  • De-escalate challenging behaviours using trauma-informed approaches.
  • Help students rebuild their self-esteem and a positive relationship with adults and learning.
  • Provide detailed feedback on emotional and academic milestones to the local authority.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience teaching or tutoring young people with severe SEMH needs, EBD, or trauma.
  • Strong behaviour management skills with a calm, de-escalating presence (Team Teach or similar training is a plus).
  • Resilience - someone who understands that a "bad day" is just a hurdle, not the end of the road.
  • A background in alternative provision, youth justice, or residential care is highly valued.
