Randstad Education is looking for a creative and energetic Teacher of Music to join a vibrant Expressive Arts department at a secondary school in Benfleet. This is a fixed-term position starting shortly, perfect for a specialist who can maintain the high standards of a busy music department during a period of temporary leave. You will be responsible for fostering a love for music across all year groups, from introducing Year 7s to music theory and performance, to guiding GCSE and A-Level students through their compositions and technical exams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Classroom Teaching: Deliver engaging practical and theoretical lessons across KS3, KS4, and potentially KS5.
  • Performance & Composition: Support students in developing their instrumental/vocal skills and using music technology (e.g., Sibelius, Logic Pro, or GarageBand) for composition.
  • Curriculum Knowledge: Familiarity with GCSE (AQA/Eduqas/OCR) and BTEC Tech Award specifications.
  • Extra-Curricular Impact: Oversee or assist with school choirs, bands, or ensembles during lunchtimes or after school.
  • Resource Management: Ensure the music suite and instruments are well-maintained and used safely by all students.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS, or an equivalent overseas teaching qualification.
  • Musical Expertise: Proficiency in at least one instrument (piano or guitar skills are highly advantageous for classroom leading).
