Do you have the UK classroom experience to seamlessly support a child with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)?

Can you be the anchor for a pupil with Autism who finds the noise of a busy mainstream classroom overwhelming?

Are you looking for a role where your knowledge of the British National Curriculum helps vulnerable learners close the attainment gap?

If you answered \”yes,\” Randstad Education wants to speak with you. We are currently experiencing high demand from Mainstream Primary Schools across Leeds that require experienced SEN professionals to facilitate inclusion within their standard classrooms.

These schools need staff who can hit the ground running. They need individuals who understand how a UK primary classroom functions and can provide immediate, effective support to children with additional needs (such as ASD, ADHD, or Global Developmental Delay) without needing extensive training on school routines.

The Role

Working in a mainstream setting means you are the bridge between the child and the class teacher.

  • 1:1 Support: Working exclusively with a specific child (or small group) to help them access the same curriculum as their peers, adapted to their level.

  • differentiation: Using your knowledge of the UK curriculum to break down complex tasks into manageable steps.

  • Social Integration: Helping pupils navigate the social rules of the playground and group work, fostering independence.

  • Sensory Management: Recognising triggers and implementing sensory breaks (using ear defenders, workstations, or fidget tools) to prevent behavioural escalation.

Why Experienced Staff Choose Randstad

  • We Value Your Experience: We understand that UK school experience is a specific skill set, and we advocate for pay rates that reflect that.

  • PAYE Only: We pay weekly via our own payroll. No umbrella companies, no hidden fees.

  • Local Placements: We work with schools in every postcode of Leeds. We aim to place you in schools that are convenient for your commute.

  • Flexibility: Whether you want a long-term role supporting one child for a full academic year, or flexible day-to-day cover, you control your diary via our app.

Requirements

  • UK Experience: You must have recent experience working within a UK Primary School or UK SEN setting. Familiarity with the National Curriculum is essential.

  • SEN Knowledge: Practical experience supporting children with EHCPs, Autism, ADHD, or Speech & Language difficulties.

  • Vetting: A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or the willingness to apply for one immediately).

  • References: Two professional references, with at least one from a UK school or educational setting.

How to Apply
