Randstad Education is seeking enthusiastic and experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with a diverse range of special educational needs (SEN) in primary schools across Leeds. Key Responsibilities:- Providing high-quality, individualised and small group support to pupils with SEN.
- Assisting class teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons tailored to diverse learning styles and needs.
- Implementing individual education plans (IEPs).
- Supporting students with their emotional, social, and behavioural needs, using evidence-based strategies.
- Communicating effectively and respectfully with class teachers, support staff, parents/carers, and the wider school community.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of pupil progress, ensuring confidentiality.
- Contributing to a positive and stimulating learning environment that celebrates diversity and fosters a sense of belonging.
- Proven experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant in a UK school.
- A strong understanding of various SEN needs and appropriate support strategies, informed by current best practice.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and behaviour management skills, demonstrating empathy and respect.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, respecting diverse perspectives.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to work, embracing change and new challenges.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
- Relevant qualifications or training in SEN (e.g., Team Teach).
- Experience supporting specific SEN needs (e.g., autism, ADHD, dyslexia, speech and language difficulties).
- Experience working with pupils across a range of primary age groups.
