Are you an empathetic and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding 1:1 role?
We are seeking a patient and compassionate individual to join our specialist SEN school in Redhill, specifically supporting our primary-aged pupils. This is a unique opportunity to provide focused, individual support to a young child, helping them navigate their early years of education in a nurturing environment tailored to their unique needs.
The Role
The core focus of this position is to support one primary-aged child across all areas of their development. You will be their consistent point of support, helping them build confidence and engage with the world around them.
Key Responsibilities:
- Primary-Focused Support: Provide tailored 1:1 support throughout the school day, ensuring the child feels safe and supported.
- Early Intervention: Implement the child\βs Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan, focusing on early social, emotional, and academic skills.
- Creative Adaptation: Use play-based learning and sensory resources to make the curriculum accessible and engaging.
- Collaborative Care: Work closely with the Class Teacher, SENCO, and parents to ensure a consistent approach to the child\βs development.
- Emotional Support: Help the pupil navigate social situations and manage emotional regulation with patience and care.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a patient, resilient, and proactive professional who truly enjoys working with young children and understands the importance of early-years SEN support.
Requirements:
- Primary Experience: Previous experience working with primary-aged children (EYFS, KS1, or KS2).
- SEN Knowledge: Experience or understanding of needs such as Autism (ASD), ADHD, or developmental delays.
- Patience & Energy: A proactive approach and the ability to keep young learners engaged.
- Commitment: A passion for promoting inclusion and independence from an early age.
