Role & Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with a range of SEN, including ASD, MLD, SLD, and SLCN.
  • You will work collaboratively with a supportive team of professionals, including teaching assistants and specialist SEN staff, to create a positive and stimulating learning environment.
  • You will foster a sense of community within the classroom, encouraging students to reach their full potential.
  • Main tasks include:
  • Develop and implement individualised education programs (IEPs) for students.
  • Create engaging and differentiated lesson plans to cater to diverse learning styles and needs.
  • Collaborate with support staff to provide a stimulating learning environment.
  • Track student progress and provide regular feedback to parents/guardians.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records.

Requirements

  • Must have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Must have at least 1 year of experience teaching students with SEN in a primary school setting.
  • Experience working with students with ASD, MLD, SLD, and SLCN is essential.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement IEPs.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Passionate about supporting students with SEN to reach their full potential.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • A thorough understanding of the UK National Curriculum.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
