Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teacher to join a specialist provision or Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Clacton-on-Sea. The Role

  • Working with students who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs requires a unique blend of patience and clinical expertise.
  • You will be teaching small groups (typically 7-12 pupils), delivering a curriculum tailored to individual Learning Plans while managing complex behavioural challenges with a restorative approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bespoke Learning: Plan and deliver an innovative curriculum focused on the complex needs of SEMH learners.
  • De-escalation: Apply positive behaviour management strategies and restorative practice to maintain a safe, purposeful environment.
  • Holistic Support: Work alongside psychologists, therapists, and SENCOs to track social and emotional progress.
  • Core Subjects: Strong ability to teach English and/or Maths to GCSE level is highly desirable.
