Randstad Education is currently recruiting specialised Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) Teaching Assistants to join our primary supply team in Leeds. Starting this September, this is an excellent opportunity for dedicated individuals who want to provide vital behavioural and emotional support to children in mainstream primary settings while enjoying complete control over their working week.

The Role

As a supply SEMH TA, you will be working with children who require extra support to manage their emotions, navigate social situations, and engage safely with their learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Nurturing Support: Work 1:1 or with small groups of primary pupils exhibiting challenging behaviours or emotional vulnerabilities.
  • De-escalation: Implement positive behaviour management techniques and recognise early triggers to de-escalate stressful situations calmly.
