Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant

Based in the Retford area, the school is a dedicated specialist setting catering to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a full-time position which could go temp - perm (Monday - Friday, term-time only) supporting students across various age groups. Whether you are leading a sports session in the morning or supporting a literacy task in the afternoon, your goal is to keep students engaged and regulated throughout the school day.
- A background in sports or outdoor education (preferred but not essential).
- Team Teach training (highly desirable, though not a deal-breaker as training can be discussed).
- A willingness to participate in physical activities and active learning sessions.
- Leading or assisting in sports and physical activities to encourage engagement.
- Monitoring and recording student progress, ensuring all safeguarding protocols are followed.
- Acting as a positive role model and mentor to help students build self-esteem.
