The UKS2 Advantage: Impact Without the Admin
We are seeking adaptable Year 5 Teachers to lead classrooms across a variety of high-achieving and diverse local schools. This role is perfect for those who enjoy the "senior" end of primary education-where children can engage in deep-dive discussions and take real ownership of their learning.
Upper KS2 Focus: Guide pupils as they transition into more complex abstract concepts in Maths and sophisticated literary analysis in English.
Prep for the Future: Help build the academic stamina and emotional resilience students will need as they head toward their final primary year.
Work-Life Balance: Reclaim your weekends! Deliver high-impact lessons without the burden of long-term planning, permanent-staff data meetings, or SATs-related paperwork.
Weekly Pay: Competitive daily rates of £130 - £160, paid every Friday via Randstad.
Your Role as a Year 5 Specialist
- High-Level Lesson Delivery: Facilitate lessons that challenge "Greater Depth" thinkers while providing clear, structured support for those still building confidence.
- Academic Progression: Support pupils as they master complex fractions, percentages, and multi-clause sentence structures.
- Classroom Leadership: Maintain a calm, respectful, and sophisticated learning environment using positive reinforcement and firm boundaries.
- Adaptive Teaching: Quickly assess the room and differentiate tasks on the fly to ensure every student-from SEND to Gifted & Talented-remains engaged.
Essential Requirements
We are looking for qualified professionals who are passionate about the Upper KS2 journey. You are an ideal fit if you:
- Hold QTS: You have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognized teaching qualification.
- Are a UKS2 Specialist: You have a solid grasp of the Year 5 National Curriculum and the social-emotional needs of 9 and 10-year-olds.
- Are Proactive & Versatile: You can step into a new school, build rapport with senior pupils instantly, and deliver the day's plan with authority and energy.
- Are Committed: You hold an enhanced DBS on the update service (or are willing to apply) and are 100% dedicated to Safeguarding.
