Staff benefit from comprehensive ongoing professional development, including full support to work towards recognised teaching and assessing qualifications.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Deliver structured teaching to Property Maintenance Operations (PMO) apprentices two days per week in classroom and workshop settings.
- Act as a Carpentry Skills Coach three days per week, assessing, coaching, and reviewing apprentices across college campuses, workplace sites, and online platforms.
- Conduct initial learner assessments, create Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), and track apprentice progress toward End-Point Assessment (EPA) gateways.
- Provide dynamic assessment, constructive feedback, and regular progress reviews to ensure full occupational competence.
- Liaise directly with employers, line managers, and Internal Quality Assurers (IQAs) to coordinate on-and-off-the-job training opportunities.
- Mentor apprentices facing barriers to learning, supporting them to achieve their qualification and long-term career ambitions.
What We Are Looking For
- Qualifications & Experience: Level 3 vocational qualification in Carpentry or Property Maintenance, at least 5 years of recent industry experience, and Level 2 (GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent) in English and Maths.
