We are currently looking for a School Admin Assistant to join a highly regarded secondary school in the Preston area. This role is set to start immediately after the upcoming half-term break, making it the perfect time for a fresh start.
The Role at a Glance
- Hours: Monday – Friday, 12:30 pm – 4:00 pm
- Start Date: Post-half-term (June 2026)
- The System: The school uses Arbor. If you’ve used it before, great! If not, it’s very user-friendly.
Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for the school, answering phones and welcoming visitors in a professional manner.
- Manage daily administrative tasks using the Arbor system, including data entry and pupil records.
- Collaborate with the wider office team to organise resources and handle daily post/emails.
- Liaise with teachers, support staff, and school leadership to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Work closely with other administration staff to manage student attendance and sign-in procedures.
- Monitor and track administrative requests, supporting the office team on a flexible basis.
- Provide minor student-facing support in the main office, helping with enquiries with a friendly approach.
Essential Requirements
- Experience working within an office environment (school experience is a plus but not essential).
- Be comfortable and confident working in a fast-paced environment and managing competing priorities.
- Ability to engage with, and build rapport with, both visitors and young people.
- Be proactive, flexible, and forward-thinking in your administrative supporting style.
- Basic IT literacy and confidence learning school database systems (like Arbor).
- Strong communication and team-player attitude.
