About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient individual for a full-time Pastoral Support role in a committed secondary school setting located in Bradford. This vital position is available for an ASAP start and is perfect for someone looking to take on a challenging and highly rewarding role supporting the emotional, social, and academic development of young people. The successful applicant will be instrumental in promoting positive behaviour, improving attendance, and ensuring the well‑being and inclusion of all students, particularly those facing social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. This position involves working collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to help students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Requirements
- Prior experience working with children or young people, preferably within an educational or youth support setting.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Eligibility to work in the UK (Right to Work).
- Enhanced Child DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).

- Providing one‑to‑one and small group pastoral mentoring sessions.
- Implementing behaviour management strategies to promote a positive learning environment.
- Monitoring and tracking student attendance and punctuality, implementing interventions where necessary.
- Acting as the key point of contact for parents/carers regarding student well‑being and pastoral issues.
- Liaising with external agencies, such as social services, CAMHS, and youth offending teams.
- Maintaining accurate, confidential, and up‑to‑date records of student progress and critical incidents.
- Supporting the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) with low‑level safeguarding concerns and referrals.
- Assisting in break and lunch duty supervision to maintain a calm and orderly environment.
- Developing and delivering bespoke pastoral intervention programmes (e.g., resilience building, social skills).
- Contributing to staff training on student well‑being and behaviour best practices.
