SEN NCFE Teachers Required - Specialist Provisions in Papworth Everard

Are you a qualified teacher or vocational trainer with a heart for inclusive education and a background in delivering NCFE qualifications? Whether you are looking for the absolute flexibility of day-to-day cover or the stability and consistency of a long-term placement, we have rewarding opportunities tailored to your lifestyle. We are recruiting dedicated, empathetic, and adaptable NCFE Teachers for daily and long-term roles at wonderful specialist schools, alternative provisions, and post-16 SEND bases in and around Papworth Everard. This role is ideal for vocational educators who want to help learners with additional needs-such as Autism (ASD), moderate to severe learning difficulties, or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs-gain practical, life-changing qualifications in a supportive environment.

Choose the Path that Suits Your Career:

  • Day-to-Day Supply: Take absolute control of your schedule. Manage your own diary and step in to deliver pre-planned vocational lessons and practical sessions, allowing you to enjoy teaching without the takeaway burden of ongoing planning or data tracking.
  • Long-Term Placements: Enjoy the stability of staying with a consistent cohort of learners for a term or a full academic year. Take ownership of unit delivery, guide SEND learners step-by-step through their portfolio building, adapt assessments to meet individual needs, and celebrate their hard-earned achievements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accessible Vocational Delivery: Deliver engaging, highly differentiated NCFE lessons (ranging from Entry Level up to Level 2/3) tailored to the unique learning styles, communication profiles, and sensory needs of SEND pupils.
  • Portfolio & Assessment Support: Guide learners through their coursework portfolios, breaking down tasks into manageable chunks and providing the positive reinforcement needed for them to succeed.
  • Positive Behaviour Support: Maintain a calm, low-arousal, and safe learning environment, utilising proactive de-escalation strategies and positive behaviour support (PBS) to manage challenging behaviours safely.
  • Collaborative Working: Work closely with a skilled team of specialist Teaching Assistants, therapists, and support staff to ensure each student's Individual Education Plan (IEP) is fully supported.

What We Are Looking For:

  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., QTS, QTLS, PGCE, Cert Ed) or a relevant vocational training/assessing qualification.
  • Proven experience delivering NCFE frameworks (or similar vocational paths like BTEC or City & Guilds), ideally within a specialist or alternative education setting.
  • A patient, nurturing, and resilient nature-someone who treats every small step as a massive victory and does not phase easily.
  • Strong differentiation skills and a passion for teaching young people who thrive outside of a traditional academic curriculum.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one).

What Is in it for You?

  • Excellent rates of pay, paid weekly and reflective of your experience and the specialist nature of the role.
  • Complete control over your working week with flexible diary management.
  • Free access to specialist SEND training modules to boost your CPD (such as safeguarding, autism awareness, and positive behaviour management).
  • A dedicated local consultant with expert knowledge of the Cambridgeshire specialist education sector to support you.

Ready to help SEND learners turn vocational education into independent success? Bring your teaching expertise to a role where your patience and creativity will directly change lives.
