We are actively seeking adaptable Support Workers and SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team, working across various specialist schools, alternative provisions, and academy trusts throughout Newmarket and the surrounding Suffolk/Cambridgeshire border region. Key Responsibilities:
- Offering dedicated 1:1 or small group guidance to learners with a range of needs, including Autism (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) profiles.
- Helping the class teacher deliver interactive, sensory-based, and practical learning tasks aligned with individual education plans.
- Creating a reassuring, safe space by utilising positive behaviour support and calm de-escalation strategies.
- Supporting pupils in developing their personal independence, functional life skills, and everyday communication tools.
What We Are Looking For:
- A patient, grounded, and emotionally resilient personality - someone who remains a calm presence in challenging situations.
- Prior experience supporting vulnerable individuals or children with additional needs (gained through professional care work, educational settings, or personal life).
- Strong collaborative skills to work seamlessly alongside teachers, therapists, and existing classroom teams.
- A valid Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or a willingness to complete one immediately).
