- Support class teachers with daily classroom setup, activity preparation, and maintaining a safe, engaging learning environment.
- Work with individual pupils or small groups to boost confidence and understanding in core areas such as phonics, reading, writing, and basic numeracy.
- Provide 1:1 support for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), such as Autism (ASC), ADHD, or speech and language challenges, implementing personalised learning tasks.
- Encourage positive behaviour, social development, and independence among young learners, both in the classroom and during playground supervision.
- Help monitor pupil progress and share constructive observations with class teachers and SENCOs.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning) or solid prior experience supporting children in an educational or child-centred setting.
- A patient, encouraging, and empathetic nature with strong communication skills.
- Good foundational knowledge of early reading, phonics, and primary age-group development.
- An adaptable, hands-on approach and the confidence to take initiative in a lively classroom environment.
- A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to complete one).
