Position: Secondary teacher

Location: Linton

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Start Date: September 2026

Qualification: PGCE, QTS, SEN experience

This is a full-time permanent position; you will be required to support five days a week Monday to Friday inline with school hours.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and teach high-quality, engaging lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and (if applicable) 5.
  • Use data to monitor student achievement and implement interventions where gaps are identified.
  • Guide students through GCSE/A-Level specifications, focusing on exam technique and marking criteria.
  • Maintain a focused, respectful classroom culture using the school's behaviour framework.
  • Act as a Form Tutor, supporting the social, emotional, and academic well-being of a specific student group.
  • Contribute to the development of departmental schemes of work and share best practices with colleagues.

Preferred Skills

  • A deep, up-to-date understanding of your specialist subject and its relevant exam boards.
  • The ability to adapt complex material for a wide range of abilities, including SEN and EAL students.
  • Proficiency in using digital tools like Google Classroom, MS Teams, and interactive whiteboards to enhance learning.
  • Competence in using school management systems (e.g., SIMS or Bromcom) to track and report on student data.
  • Strong communication and public speaking skills to engage and command a room of young people.
