Your Role and Responsibilities
As an SEN Teaching Assistant working within the KS3 and KS4 departments, your day-to-day duties will include:
- Providing tailored support to learners on a 1:1, small group, and wider classroom basis.
- Assisting students with various SEN requirements, focusing heavily on SEMH needs.
- Fostering a love for learning while guiding students toward independence.
- Communicating effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress.
- Actively participating in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, and whole-school training events.
What We Are Looking For (Requirements)
To be considered for this rewarding Learning Support role, applicants must possess:
- Experience: 6 to 12 months of experience in a care, education, or learning support environment.
- Qualifications: GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent) and eligibility to work in the UK.
- Mindset: A flexible, resilient, and positive approach to supporting learners with complex needs.
Note: Direct SEN experience is highly desirable, though candidates with a strong care background or those with personal SEN experience looking to transition into education are encouraged to apply.
