  • Key Roles & Responsibilities
  • Plan, resource, and deliver a sensory-rich curriculum tailored to pupils with complex needs (e. g. ASD, ADHD, SLD).
  • Design and implement targeted Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) in partnership with the SENDCo.
  • Direct and mentor classroom support staff to ensure safe and effective learning interventions.
  • Cultivate a low-arousal, safe, and positive learning space that promotes growth and reduces anxiety.
  • Collaborate closely with speech and language therapists, educational psychologists, and parents.

Requirements for the Role

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with proven experience teaching in an SEN or alternative provision setting.
  • Deep knowledge of different learning strategies, PECS, Makaton, or sensory integration techniques.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to obtain one).
  • Exceptional resilience, emotional intelligence, and positive behaviour management skills.
  • Outstanding collaborative skills for working with a multidisciplinary support team.
