An exciting opportunity is available for a proactive Teaching Assistant/Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our partner SEN School in Stowmarket. We are seeking a dedicated and resilient individual to provide essential support to students with a range of needs, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential. This is a chance to make a profound and lasting impact on young lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with a range of needs, including learning difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons.
  • Help create a stimulating and supportive classroom environment that encourages independence and a love for learning.
  • Support the physical, emotional and social development of students, ensuring their well-being and safety at all times.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents and other professionals to ensure a cohesive and supportive approach to student development.
  • Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and classroom resources.

Requirements

  • Experience as a teaching assistant / learning support mentor / classroom assistant is desirable.
  • A strong understanding of the challenges faced by students and a patient, empathetic approach.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A Child DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
