Are you looking for a rewarding Teaching Assistant job in Lancing? Do you have experience working with children, young people, SEN, SEND, SEMH, autism, ADHD, behavioural needs, youth work or care settings?

We are recruiting for a SEMH Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist school supporting primary and secondary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This specialist setting provides a nurturing and supportive environment for pupils with SEMH needs. With small class sizes, a personalised approach to learning and a strong focus on wellbeing, staff work together to help young people build confidence, resilience and positive outcomes. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative team, gain valuable experience in SEND and SEMH education, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young people.

Following a successful 12-week placement, you will transfer directly onto the school's permanent staff team.

Role: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Location: Lancing

Salary: £93-£100 per day (12-week temporary placement) | £22,000-£23,500 per annum (permanent)

Hours: Monday-Friday, 08:15am-3:30pm

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people (education, care, youth work or similar)
  • GCSE Maths & English (required)
  • Calm, patient and resilient approach
